After you have made your squares it is time to SL St them together with backs together. This gives you a raised look to your afghan. Starting with the center Square; attach the smaller squares in rows and then attach to center square working out wards. If you do not want a raised look attach together as you please.

After you finish placing your squares in appropriate places you then need to continue with the border. Start with the bottom and top borders:

Base: Ch 154

Rows 1-10: 153 SC across, Ch 1, turn.

At the end of row 10, Tie off.

Repeat one more time.

Attach the bottom and top to afghan by taking pieces and placing backsides together and SL st across ( make sure to start and stop in corner sp).  Do to different styles of piecing the afghan together, it is best to safety pin them in place to make sure you evenly attach the pieces.

Left and Right Side pieces:

Base: CH 208

Row 1-10: 207 SC across, Ch 1 turn.

At the end of row 10, Tie off.

Repeat one more time.

Attach the Sides to the afghan by taking pieces and placing backsides together and SL st across (make sure to start and stop in corner sp).  Do to different styles of piecing the afghan together, it is best to safety pin them in place to make sure you evenly attach the pieces.

Finishing touch: SC around blanket, 3 SC in same sp for the corners.

I love this one I gave it to my daughter and she loves the heavier weighted blankets.
