This is a great sized blanket for an infant it is about 30” X 38”. It is made with “I Love This Yarn” yarn and is easy to make but so cute to handle. Enjoy this one.
Materials: Crochet hook Size I, I love This Yarn (100% Cotton): colors- 2 skein Pistachio,3 skeins Mulberry, and 2 skeins Ivory, Darning needle. Skeins size is a size 4 medium yarn, 3.5 ounces- 180 yards.
CC = Change Color
CH = Chain
SL = Slip Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
DC5tog = Double Crochet 5 together
Square Motif – Make 6 mulberry square and 6 pistachio squares
Base: CH 24
Row 1: Start in 3rd CH from hook, 22 DC, Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: SC, *DC 5tog in next sp, 4 SC, Rep from * 3 times, SC, Ch 2, turn.
Row 3: Sk 1 SC sp, 21 DC, CH 1, turn.
Row 4: * 4 SC, DC5tog in next sp, Rep from * 3 times, 2 SC, Ch 2 turn.
Row 5: Rep row 3.
Row 6-15: rep Rows 2-5, you should end with a rep of row 3.
Row 16: 22 SC, Tie off and hide string. Do not turn your work. CC to Ivory
Perimeter:
Rnd 1:Connect Ivory to right top corner (right side facing you), 21 SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 21 SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 21 SC, 3 SC in corner, 21 SC, 2 SC in 1st SC sp, SL to 1st sc made, CH 1, turn.
Rnd 2: SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 23 SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 23 SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 23 SC, 3 SC in next, 21 SC, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.
Rnd 3: 23 SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 25 SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 25 SC, 3 SC in corner sp,25 SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 1 SC, SL to 1st Sc made, Tie off hide string.
After making all 12 squares sew the squares together with ivory yarn in a checkered pattern in any chosen manner.
After sewing all the motifs together with right side facing you next step is the border.
Border:
Rnd 1: SC around the blanket, 3 SC in corner sps, then sl to 1st SC made, CC to mulberry.
Rnd 2: CH 2, DC around blanket, 3 DC in corner sps, SL to 1st DC made, CH 1, turn.
Rnd 3: 2 SC, *DC5tog, 4 SC, rep from * around blanket, 3 SC in corner sps, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 2, turn.
Rnd 4: DC around perimeter of blanket 3 DC in corner spaces, SL to 1st DC made, Tie off and hide string.
Now you have a fabulous blanket!
