This is a great hat for the holiday season! This requires medium level skills because you will be working 6 strands at one time. It is fun and kids love it!
Materials: One Skein Each of Red Heart Yarn – Cherry Red and White, One Skein of White fur yarn.
Ch = Chain
SL= Slip
SC = Single Crochet
FPsc =Front Post Single Crochet
BPsc = Back Post
BLO = Back Loop Only
Base: Put White yarn and White Fur yarn together and CH 66, SL to 1st Ch made, Ch 1, Do not turn.
Rnd 1: SC around, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn.
Rnd 2: *FPsc, BPsc, Rep from * around to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn.
Rnd 3:*BPsc, FPsc, Rep from * around to 1st SC made, Ch 1, Turn.
Rnd 4: Rep Rnd 2; Cut Fur yarn and hide string. Make sure not to cut the white Red Heart yarn.
This row you will start working you 6 stand at once. We will name these strands W1, W2, and W3. W if for the Color White and the number is for which stand to use. R1, R2, and R3, R is for the color Red and the number is for the strand.
Rnd 5 -8 (connecting rows) –
W 1(continuing yarn from Row 4): 33SC, Take out hook and leave loop.
W2: Connect W2 on top of W1 on 3rd SC made, 30 SC, take out hook and leave loop.
W3: Connect on top of W2, on 3rd SC made, 28 SC, take out hook and leave loop.
R1: Connect to next st where W1 leaves off, 33 SC, Take out hook and leave loop.
R2: Connect on top of R1, on 3rd SC made, 30 SC, Take out hook and leave loop.
R3: Connect on top of R2, on 3rd SC made, 28 SC, Take out hook and leave loop.
Rnd 9-15:
W1- BLO: 2 SC in R1 sps, 2 SC in R2 sps, 28 SC in R3 sps, Take out hook leave loop.
W2-W3: SC to end of row takes out hook leave loop.
At this point all loops should line up and you can go all the way around the hat one string at a time. After Each Row Instruction take out hook and leave loop.
