Great fun! This strawberry appliqué is a fun addition for projects yet to be made for the summer. This Project is made with Size 10 thread. I used pink and lt green for the berries but Red and green are fun as well.
Materials: Lt. Green and Pink size 10 threads. Crochet Hook size 1.8 mm.
Berry (Pink)
Base: CH 3
Rnd 1: 5 DC in 1st Ch made, CH 3, turn.
Rnd 2: 3 DC in each of next 4 sps, turn.
Rnd 3: 1 SC, HDC, 2 DC in next 7 sps, HDC, SC, turn.
Rnd 4: SK 2 sps, SL , SC, 2 HDC, DC, 2 DC in next 4 sps, DC, 2 HDC, SK 1 sp, SL, CH 1, turn.
Rnd 5: 3 SL, SC, HDC, 2 DC, 5 TR in next sp, 2 DC, HDC, SC, SL around upper part of berry until you reach the other side of RND 5, Tie off, Hide string.
Stem (LT. Green)
CH 15, Turn (working on CH 15 sps) SL, SC, HDC, 2 DC, HDC, SC, CH 5, Turn (working on CH 5 sps), SL, SC, HDC, SC, CH 8, Turn (working on CH 8 sps), SL , SC, HDC, 2 DC, HDC, SC, (Now continue working on the rest of CH 15 sps), 5 SC, HDC, DC, Tie off, Hide string.
Options – you can sew of hot glue the stem onto the strawberry.
