Make it your own. This lamp is meant to be made from your leftover scraps of yarn and buttons you have laying around. This is a fun and different project. The yarn is a size 3 light yarn and a G hook.
Materials: Find leftover scraps of light 3 yarn any colors of your choosing, size G crochet hook, gather buttons that you would like to use, Darning needle, Hot glue gun, and 8 ½ X 11” Lamp Shade,
Large Diamonds – Make Four Motifs
Base: CH 16
Row 1-16: 15 SC, Ch 1 turn.
Rnd 17: 14 SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 14 SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 13SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 14 SC, 2 SC in corner sp, SL to 1st SC made, Tie off hide string.
Hot glue gun these motifs onto the lampshade by tacking down toward the middle of motif so they can slightly stretch if they need when they are sewn together.
Triangle – Make Four Motifs
Base: Ch 11
Row 1-2: 10 SC, Ch 1, turn.
Row 3: SC2tog, 6 SC, SC2tog, CH 1, turn.
Row 4: 8 SC, CH 1, turn.
Row 5: SC2tog, 4 SC, SC2tog, CH 1, turn.
Row 6: 6 SC, CH 1, turn.
Row 7: SC2tog, 2 SC, SC 2tog, Ch 1 turn.
Row 8: 4 SC, CH 1, turn.
Row 9: SC2tog, SC 2tog, CH 1 turn.
Row 10: 2 SC, Ch 1, turn.
Rnd 11: SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 7 SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 8 SC, 3 SC in corner sp, 9 SC, Sl to 1st SC made, Tie off, Hide string.
Hot glue gun these motifs onto the lampshade by tacking down toward the middle of motif so they can slightly stretch if they need when they are sewn together. Place them on the top of the lampshade between the diamond motifs.
Then take your darning needle and sew together the motifs together, feel free to use more glue on the project during the sewing portion of the project sew the motifs together then sew down to the lampshade further.
Border Strips – Make 8 Motifs
Base: Ch 15
Row 1: 13 SC, 2 SC in next sp, CH 1, turn.
Row 2: 2 SC in 1st sp, 12 SC, SC2tog, CH 1, turn.
Row 3: Sc2tog, 12 SC, 4 SC in corner sp, SC, 3 Sc in corner sp, 12 SC, 4 Sc in corner sp, SC, 2 SC in corner sp, Sl to 1st SC made, Tie off and hide string.
Hot glue gun these motifs onto the lampshade by tacking down toward the middle of motif so they can slightly stretch if they need when they are sewn together.
Take your darning needle and sew the border strips together then sew the border strips to the bottom of the diamonds in shown manner.
Take the glue gun and make sure that everything is secured down to the lampshade, then take buttons you have found around the house and glue into any chosen place.
