Fun Pillow Kids Love! Made from Lion Brand Yarn and a Size k crochet hook, magic is made. The pillow is made from 8 different motifs that are stuffed with Poly-fil and sew together.

 

Materials: Hometown USA- Lion Brand Yarn: Monterey lime and Oklahoma City Green, Size k Crochet Hook, Poly-fil, and darning needle.

 

SL = Slip Stitch

SK = Skip

SP(S) = Space(s)

SC = Single Crochet

CH = Chain

FLO = Front Loop Only

SLO = Slip Stitch Only

OK G = Oklahoma Green Yarn

ML = Monterey Lime

 

Top Shell: OK G

Base: CH 3

Rnd 1: 6 SC in 1st CH made, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 2 FLO: 2 SC in each sp around, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 3 FLO: *SC, 2 SC in next sp, Rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 4 FLO: * 2 SC, 2 SC in next sp, Rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, CC to ML, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 5 FLO: * 3 SC, 2 SC in next sp, Rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 6 FLO: * 4 SC, 2 SC in next sp, Rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, CC to OK G,  Ch 1, turn.

Belly:  ML

Base: Ch 3

Rnd 1: 8 SC in 1st CH made, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1 turn.

Rnd 2: 2 SC in each sp around, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 3: * SC, 2 SC in next sp, rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 4: * 4 SC, 2 Sc in next sp, rep from * around, end with 2 SC, SC to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 5: * 5 SC, 2 Sc in next sp, rep from * around, end with 2 SC, SC to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 6: * 6 SC, 2 Sc in next sp, rep from * around, end with 2 SC, SC to 1st SC made, Tie off Hide string.

 

Sew the belly of the turtle and the shell together connecting at the perimeter (last round) of each. Sew together with the Tail end of the Shell. Before completely closing the shell – stuff with poly-fill.

 

Head: ML

Base: Ch 3

Rnd 1: 6 SC in 1st ch made, Sl to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 2: * SC, 2 SC in next sp, Rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 3: 3 SC, [ 2 SC in next sp] 3 times, 3 SC, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 4: 2 SC, [2 SC in next sp] 8 times, 2 SC , SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 5-6: Sc around, SL to1st Sc made, Ch 1 turn.

Rnd 7: 2 SC, [ SC2tog] 8 times, 2 SC, Sl to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 8: 3 SC, [SC2tog] 3 times, 3 SC, Sl to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Stuff the head with poly fill

 

Sew The head of the turtle onto one side of the Turtle’s Shell

 

Tail: ML

Base: Ch 3

Rnd 1: 6 SC in 1st CH made, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 2-3: 6 Sc around, SL to 1st Sc made, Ch 1 turn. (Rnd 3: tie off and Leave a tail for sewing).

 

Sew the Tail onto the opposite end of head on the turtle’s shell.

 

Feet: ML

Base: Ch 3

Rnd 1: 8 SC in 1st Ch made, Sl to 1st Sc made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 2: * SC, Sc 2 in next sp, Reo from * around, SL to 1st Sc made, Ch 1 turn.

Rnd 3: SC around. Sl to 1st SC  made, Tie off leave long tail for sewing

(Make Four Feet)

Sew onto  belly of Turle with the Tail  end of Rnd 3.

 

Optional:  Hot glue 2 googly eyes onto turtle’s head.
